Artist History
"We been pumpin out the hits / Since the years of Nine-Six / And dun came a long way / Since the days of The Split. . ." -- Flip Dashwood ("Fastlife", Zoolife)In 1996, Flip Dash started as a member of a local Houston underground rap crew -- The Split. In 1997, 3 members of The Split broke off and formed GZ (a.k.a. Ground Zero) which Flip was also a part of. GZ exploded through the streets of Houston up until early 1998. For unknown reasons, Ground Zero broke up, which forced Dashwood to launch his solo career. After his first -- and last -- EP release (Remember the Name) under Groove Central Ent., Flip decided to take things into his own hands and created his own independent record label -- 2505 Muzik. By hooking up with Houston's hottest producer, Reddi, Wood has created his own hip-hop genre that is yet to be labeled and gets stronger by the second. |
