Artist History A multi instrumentalist (guitar, bass, keyboards), writer, and vocalist, David Ruther’s path to his pop/jazz with vocals sound was forged after years of instrumental study (bass) and various cover bands. Striving to create a sound that could satisfy his tastes in hip jazz infused pop music; he began writing and (with a predominant influence from Michael Franks) began pursuing vocals.After a few years performing his compositions live, a studio project was immanent. With sequencing and keyboards by David Robbins (whose credits include Roy Aryers and Rick James), guitar help from David Heymen and David Gorrie (both excellent players), and production help from Wendell Williamson and Jeff Order, the debut CD "Writing" was completed in 1999.Currently in the studio with Grammy Award nominated producer Bill Wolf, David is reworking some of the tracks on Writing,and recording new compositions.
