Artist description Zack the Rookie is a three piece hardcore punk band that is blurring the lines between old school, new school, and hardcore. Formed in late 1998, shortly after their bassist first started playing, the band has grown leaps and bounds in their music, always striving to keep a message in the lyrics without sacrificing any of the raw energy that punk stands for. The band has played dozens of local area shows and are constantly improving upon the energy of their stage presence. Zack the Rookie consists of Benx3x (drums and vocals), David 'Flannel Boy' Rookie (guitar and vocals), and Kevin Rookie (bass and vocals); band influences have an extremely wide range consisting of everything from Weezer to RATM, but the sounds that the band most closely relate to are MXPX, AFI, Descendents, and the entire NYHC scene.
