Press Reviews
I would compare their sound to LIFETIME. They're real tight and have a CD out, so watch out forthem! Looking for a pop punk / emo band that will force some new life into you? Search no further, because WESTBEVERLY delivers this life live. -WWW.MTV.COM There's only 5 songs here, but they made a great impression on me. Totally melodic hardcore thatreminds me of no one so much as REASON TO BELIEVE, an amazing Southern California band whowent on to become FARSIDE if I'm not mistaken. -MAXIMUMROCK'N'ROLL It's up-tempo, melodic, poppy and very original despite how many other punk bands can be describedthat way. I even found myself singing to the chorus of "Here's Your Damn Superhero." -BURNT I recently received a 5 track demo from a band out of Connecticut called West Beverly. I mustadmit I was surprised at how much talent was in the band after listening. A lot of times when you getdemos from unsigned and unheard of bands the quality isnt great and a lot of the music is really amateur.Well not West Beverly. This is a perfect example of a punk and hardcore mix, spiced up with a touch ofWest Beverly's own original twist. They have some great lyrics, you can see them on their official website,http://www.westbeverly.com. They also have some sound clips available for download, so you can hear foryourself how great this band is. This demo is available for purchase for $6 including shipping, and believeme... it's well worth it. -PUNK INTERVIEW RESOURCE (punk.acornweb.com) West Beverly is an up and coming punk band out of West Hartford, Connecticut.. Their EP kidsthese days is quite impressive. The recording quality is very good and the band sounds great. The songs aredriving and change up throughout each song, which kept my interest up. The singer of the band has a goodvoice and the vocal lines are quite good. My favorite track from the disc is Sixth Grade. I also saw thisband a few weeks ago at the El-n-gee in New London, Connecticut and they definitely rocked. I suggestyou check this band out. -WWW.BUSDRIVA.COM West Beverly submitted their first offering to the punk scene with this 5-song demo titled "KidsThese Days". Here we have some new school punk with a bit of a hardcore touch. The music itself is quitegood, and these four guys have a lot of talent. Their upcoming full-length CD should be quite good, if thisEP is any hint of what's to come. The Bottom Line: A good sample of one of the latest talent breakthroughs. This is worth taking a look at, if you like to keep up with the latest bands hitting the scene. -CTL-ALT-DEL (www.stormloader.com/krysko) This EP ("Kids These Days") is very good and captivates this local CT pop-punk band. WestBeverly brings a fast-paced, high-energy sound. Hopefully a full length will be in the future. There's 5 songon this EP and all of them are good. -WWW.SKAPUNKANDOTHERJUNK.COM |
