Artist description
Its time to take your musical pre- (and mis-) conceptions and check them at the door. Form, melody, rhythm, chords: these words represent nothing but rules, barriers and walls which only serve to limit the places where "music" can exist or reach towards. True Colour Of Blood couldn't care less about anyone's predetermined ideas about what music is or should be. Eric Kesner's music can best be described as "ambient/dark ambient" but manages to break even the rules (if there are any such thing) of those genres by making his music with only guitars instead of the usual array of synths and samplers. |

Artist History
True Colour Of Blood came about from over 20 years of guitar playing. I had sounds in my head that I wanted to get on tape. When I started recording my stuff I had no idea that there were bands out there doing this sort of music and it was something that I personally wanted to hear. |

Press Reviews
(Review of The Significance Of Secrecy) A deep foggy drone is the catalyst for this dreary soundworld. Eric surrounds that drone with walls of bleak manipulations. The sound design is cloudy, murky and organic. There are no edges or respites. The sinister soundscape is consistent from the get-go. It is fun to be scared. This disc is scary. Ergo, it is a fun disc! Jim Brenholts. Author of "Tracks Across the Universe: A Chronology of Ambient and Electronic Music".........
True Colour of Blood, hails from Washington DC and is the brainchild of Eric Kesner. The amazing and fascinating thing about Eric's tracks are that they are entirely derived from guitar. He employs no other sound sources. Heavily modulated and reworked, TCoB manages to morph guitar sounds into humming landscapes and electric wallpaper that is perfect for relaxation. Some of TCoB's tracks descend into the abyss gently gliding the listener along the way. Reminiscent of works by Brian Eno or other ambient pioneers, these tracks still take on a life of their own and find a unique niche in a redundant genre. 11 out of 10 points for creativity and unique application. You can't walk away from True Colour of Blood with out getting a little bit stained. Headphone Awards |
