Artist History
The Sillies formed in early 1977 as Detroit's first true punk rock band. They debuted at the Kramer Theater to a crowd of 1,000, toured the U.S. and Canada, and opened their own nightclub, Bookie's Club 870. They played shows with The MC 5, The Damned, The Dead Boys, Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, etc. Death and institutionalization has changed the personnel from time to time, but the general direction has remained the same: straight down. |
