    Artist description
Since the group's origination in the Summer of 1993, Paris Blue was one of the few bands to successfully integrate such an eclectic blend of musical talent into such a widely supported musical format. Elements from hard rock, alternative metal and acoustic rock fused together for one hell of an inspiring ride. Whether its was touring with other regionally recognized artists, opening for Nationals or simply playing down at the local bar, you didn't want to miss out on this humble group of musicians. In 1990 with Brandon on Guitar, Thomas on Drums and C.J. on Vocals the garage band was born. Bass players came and went until Ysidro joined the group in 1993. Soon after, Paris Blue took Albuquerque by storm with music inspired by Godsmack to Sevendust; Candlebox to Creed. Endless concerts and showcases inviting every age group gave these musicians the opportunity to expose their creative expression to everyone. Dominating local and regional 'Battle of the Bands' gave Paris Blue the opportunity to familiarize themselves with studio settings resulting in 'Mind over Matter' and a self titled E.P. During recording of their third studio release however, the band suffered a disappointing setback. One year into completion of the recording, Paris had some serious problems with the studio engineer and chose to start over from scratch. They added a second guitar player, Jon, and recorded again. With all the troubles behind them, Paris Blue released their debut CD 'Get Out Alive' in January of 1998. This timeless classic is no longer in print, but the music is available here! The recording contains some of the bands earliest work such as 'Holocaust' (written in 1990) as well as '38 Times' (1997). Recorded on a shoestring budget, the disc portrays some of the group's earlier influences. Pushing their regional exposure, the band's media highlights include interviews with the Southwest magazine Micline, and winning the 1997 94 ROCK Rosta Record Competition with their rendition of 'Puff the Magic Dragon'. The band appeared regularly on the 94 ROCK morning show and 107.9 The Edge (Local Edge), and has opened for dozens of National touring acts including: Haste, Brother Cane and a shoebox full of hair bands including LA Guns, Slaughter, Godspeed, Dokken and Cinderella. Recently the group contributed music for the upcoming directorial movie debut from Peter Filardi [The Craft, Flatliners]. They've also tackled acoustic showcases in local record stores, performing at the second stage at the ABQ Journal Pavillion and have performed regularly at the New Mexico State Fair. Unfortunately Paris Blue has now hung up their band boots and have taken a well deserved break. Maybe at some point they're re-group???
