Artist History
Obey began in Boston in 1995, the brainchild of Sebastian O'Brien. Sebastian writes all the music and lyrics and performs as lead singer and lead guitar. Sebastian had been in several bands before, including The Tenderloins and The Ghost Of Tony Gold (winners of Boston WBCN Rock Rumble 1998). Obey was formed as an outlet for Sebastian's own music. Obey was featured on the Boston Band compilation Wicked Deluxe, released in 1996. The band has gone through a few lineup changes and is currently reforming in the L.A. area. |

Press Reviews
"...Next up was the band that I have to admit threw me off guard: OBEY. Judging by their name, I was expecting some hormone fueled fascist hardcore band, but instead we were treated to some danceable hard psychedelia- subsequently getting the crowd to obey their hips and groove." - from Instant Magazine April 1996 |
