    Artist History
Mistralth started after Vanishing Beauty broke up in 1996. I took a slower approach to the music after Vanishing Beauty's fast melodic death metal and I decided to name the band after my artist name since I was the only one in the band. During the first 2 years I did a few 4 track recordings (never officially released) and got quite some interest from the metal scene, but never signed anything because I was personally unhappy with the songs at the time. I felt that I was somewhat still searching for the right track I wanted to follow between slower and faster material. After I could afford better recording equipment I released Promo 2000 about one year ago and by the time I was finishing the last song, Morsus-Ranae joined the band (hence only one of the Promo 2000 songs is sung by him) after breaking up with his 4 year old funky metal band. Jonna was already in Mistralth before I started to record Promo 2000 (joined the band in early 2000). Promo 2000 was a definite turning point and we got a lot of interested people mailing us and asking for various stuff. I could say that we have established a small fan group by now. The promo was not commercially available except on mp3.com. The song Silent Scream got the most publicity even though all of the songs found their listeners! Mistralth just released 'Dairy of Despair' after a year of hard labour! The result is amazing; the overall sound has a good quality and the songs create a real dark and gothic atmosphere, exactly the way we wanted. Have a listen for yourself

    Press Reviews
"The first thing that strikes your ear is the piano. A really nice riff followed by the drum, bass and guitar. Then some distinctive male vocals, followed by the most wonderful female vocals. A voice almost good enough to make the hair rise on your arms. The second song seems to kick you a bit more in the ass. If you didn't start to tap your feet at 'Silent Scream', then you'll probably start to do it now to 'Rotting in your triumph'.I like 'Misery in you', it's a nice and depressing song! 'Under' is an instrumental song. The first part bored me a bit, but the song becomes way better." -Uma RockReunion
