Artist History Gary Soffer has been playing guitar for only four years but, for him, life without it isunimaginable. He began on an electric guitar but quickly fell in love with the percussivenature of the acoustic guitar and has since been dedicated to it. Music has been a part of his life since being a young child, his parents can stillremember a time when he was a young child rummaging through old vinyl records,pulling out the Beatles White Album and the Grateful Deads American Beauty andlistening to them for hours upon hours. He began playing in public with the classic rock cover band Devil's Groove.Devil's Groove developed a significant following in Rockland County, NY but broke upbecause of musical differences. With the break up of Devil's Groove, Gary decided to gosolo and began writing his own music. His first few solo gig's were performed at smalltalent shows and open mike nights. He has since played opening up for bands likeInasense and has been a featured performer at Rockfest 99'. His folk/rock/pop feel has developed a well received following through out thecounty and will hopefully continue to grow.
