    Artist description
Conflict n Friction joins the ranks of the hip-hop underground sound with raw intensity, originality, and dynamic soul-stimulating rhythms. Inspired by many artists of the Old School, as well as family members who are musically talented, the natural delivery of explicit urban poetry from this duo is accurately demonstrated in their cd, "Static in the Atmosphere".

    Artist History
In Conflict n Friction's words, "The New York vibe is the Bridgeport vibe; in media and the music of the hip-hop culture. We want to produce the best of what hip-hop listeners want pumpin' on their stereos, in their headphones, and out the windows of their cars. "They describe their unique style as a manifestation of their immediate circumference where the streets became their boot camp for ascending into the hip-hop industry.

    Press Reviews
MTV Local, The Word: "Conflict n Friction - Static in the Atmosphere", by Aric Allen. Let's clear the air. I'm not a hip-hop purist - whatever that means. But I can't listen to hip-hop albums that blast a constipated flow over Casio-style beats. I can't feel the lyrics of a hip-hop track that sounds like broken spoken word poetry laid on top of heavily-bassed, ill-produced beats. In other words, most underground hip-hop leaves me wondering why "underground" has to be synonymous with torpid. But every once in a while, a hip-hop act like ZION I, THE MOUNTAIN BROTHERS or 24/7 comes along and helps to restore the faith. Add another one to the list: CONFLICT N FRICTION. These cats have been rocking the Bridgeport scene for the past decade or so and have cooked up a head-noddin', sinister blend of true hip-hop out in Connecticut. With tracks like the CAPONE N NOREAGA-like "Homebound," CNF blaze Static in the Atmosphere from start to finish with deeply structured and mentally stable whips over a pulsing heritage of WU-TANG-like beats. While most of the hip-hop world has evolved into a jiggified, commercial mess, CNF is a throwback to the not-so-old days when MOBB DEEP's PRODIGY kicked "Hell on Earth" and RZA spit heavy mental flows before turning into BOBBY DIGITAL. Production is key to CNF's brew as the beats stay dark and brooding with a hardcore vigor, and "Fallen" will have you reciting along to CNF's flipped out RZA sample. A hip-hop purist? Not yet. But maybe there's hope if hip-hop heads keep doing it the right way --CNF's way.
