    Artist description
In 1992, Bobby was insprired to write the lyrics and melody of "The Robot" while gifted guitarist Jack Falk fingered some beautiful but sorrowful guitar music he had composed. His wife, Bonnie, accompanied them on the bass. The senator's speech was added to show that the worker, the handcuffed hero in our story, might have ended up in a padded cell.

    Artist History
Bobby is a native son of northern California. He is descended from the historic Lawrence/Stow families who in 1873 were instrumental in founding the town of Walnut Creek in Contra Costa County, in the San Francisco Bay Area. He started out in the music world singing in barbershop quartets and light opera. As a child, he was trained as a vocalist by Nikko Snell. As a teenager in the early sixties he sang lead in his own group, "The Epics", which was based out of Walnut Creek. The Epics won first place in the area's "Battle of the Bands". They locally released a 45 record single on the AM radio station KKIS, with "Homesick", and "Humpty Dumpty", which was later released on a British LP as well. In 1968 Bobby joined The Frumious Bandersnatch, which was to become a popular San Francisco, East Bay Band managed by Bill Graham. They released only one stereo 33&1/3 album, which was a clear purple EP. They also played live in venues along the United States and Canadian west coasts. (Check out http:/mp3.com/frumiousbandersnatch.) Bobby left Frumious Bandersnatch in 1969 to join The Steve Miller Band as vocalist/ bass player. His first original song with Steve was on the, "Number 5" album, a gold record that included Bobby's "The Good Morning Song.". He left the band to pursue a Warner Brothers contract at the end of 1972, and continued performing live and writing. In 1974 he signed with Doobie Brothers' Manager Bruce Cohn, and his brother, producer Marty Cohn, with executive producer Lenny Warnaker. The name of the new band was "Bonaroo". They toured the U.S.A. with 3 Dog Night; and Europe with The Doobie Brothers, Tower of Power, Graham Central Station, Little Feat,& Montrose. In 1976 Bobbys' Capitol Records' song, "My Own Space", was released on Steve Miller's "The Book of Dreams" album, and has sold over 3 million copies. While Bobby retired his touring shoes in 1975 he continued writing. "The Robot" is just a taste of much more to come in the new millennium!
