Artist description
Go ahead, put on the Pasties. The Pasties have nothing to hide -- nothing except a growing repertoire of tight, fiery melodies that serve as a soundtrack for optimistic lovelorn bliss. Walking a line between the sneering craftsmanship of Elvis Costello and the taut energy of Weezer, the Pasties serve up personal trials with a wry smile. Can we play it loud? Can we play it fast? Sure -- who wants to know?

Artist History
The Pasties emerged, butterfly-like, from the discarded carapace of Mighty Vitamin in April of 2000. Since then the Pasties have become fixtures on New York's Lower East Side music scene, appearing in such venues as
Fez, the Mercury Lounge, Arlene Grocery and the Wetlands. Although they have toured only in the Northeast, the Pasties count fans from as far away as Singapore. |

Press Reviews
“Jangly guitar tassels swing from circular, sticky four-on-the-floor beats, and the bass slithers up and down and in and out in a sort of removed, sexy sphere all its own – ‘cause every band needs a good bottom end.”
- The Village Voice
“The Pasties . . . could easily be mistaken for career musicians.”
- The Silicon Alley Reporter
