Artist description
Aside from my collaborator, Geoff Hewett, I am the only member of the "Band". As you can see from my influences I have a wide range of musical inspiration to draw from...thats why Port 79 is so unique.Everything you hear on the track is me. About 90% of what you hear on the CD is me. I have had many talented friends help on the completion of the upcoming debut album "Interview".-Jay |

Artist History
This all started in a dorm room with a tiny mixer,a cheap microphone, and some drum loops. Since then the response to the music has been overwhelming and the goals and achievements of Port 79 have grown.I traveled 7 hours each way from Lubbock to Austin in 1999 twice a month for the entire year to finish the upcoming CD "Interview". The task of piecing 14 tracks together, mostly by myself was enormous, but worth it. The First full length album, including the single "Free" at mp3.com will be available in April of 2000. The term "Port 79" is a known Port by hackers to "finger" through another computers information.-Jay |
