    Artist description
    Picks and Sticks consist of core members Paul Droog (vocals, guitar, mandolin, lyrics), Danny (Boots) Hunter (bass, vocals), Paul Stock (drums and percussion), as well as occasional guest keyboardist, Doug Varty. Group performs mostly original, interactive children's music from three self-released albums. Performance area has been southern Ontario, with Paul Droog also performing solo and conducting songwriting and instrument making workshops in schools and libraries. Age group of music is 0-10 and their families. Type of music includes: rock, folk, country, and blues.

    Artist History
    Picks and Sticks was formed in 1993 by Paul Droog and Paul Stock. The duo became a trio by the release of the first album in 1994, "Junkfood Hog". In 1996, "What a Great Day!" was released (on cassette). In 1998, "Let's Go!" was released, and which included the addition of Doug Varty. All selections have been written and composed by Paul Droog except for five songs on the "What a Great Day!" album, four of which were written by Danny Hunter and one by Paul Stock. The group is currently writing material for upcoming performances, and Danny Hunter has released two albums of original country/folk music. As well, Paul Droog is preparing folk music for eventual release by 2001.
