    Artist description
A new and different side of electronic is what Mad Dog Charm introduces to the listener. All nine tracks on the debut MP3.com CD entitled Wideband are the product of 4 months of thought, imagination, and inspiration. Michael, being an avid radio/electronics enthusiast, always keeps an ear out for great sounds to use in his musical expression. For this reason, many of the effects heard on a number of the tracks come literally from around the world, as they make use of shortwave radio and scanner samples. The fluid melodies and sometimes treaterous beats not only define Mad Dog Charm, but as Michael puts it, "the music is very close to me.. it just comes out and evokes certain feelings." Though having had to work with limited equipment (barely more than a computer, drum machine, electric guitar, and a bass guitar, which he plucked the frets out of converting it to a fretless) this hasn't stopped him from creating some of the most advanced beats and sounds out there on the electronic forefront.

    Artist History
In the early 1990's, Michael and a few close friends (Miguel, Dax, and Freddy) formed an alternative rock band in which he played electric guitar. Soon after getting their act together, Mike's brother gave him some extra recording and percussion equipment he no longer needed. Using this equipment, the band, which went through many name changes but is best remembered as Migraine, recorded many original tracks, and also gave Michael the freedom to explore more non-standard musical endeavors which eventually led into his electronic expression. In the mid-1990's, Migraine began a slow division where Michael found himself playing guitar for what appeared to be two separate bands at times. Eventually it all stopped for him when he moved on in 1996 and started experimenting with audio recording on his computer. In late 1997 to early 1998, Michael was formally introduced to the electronic genre by his brother Ian (also a musician, known as Timeflow) when one evening during a chat session between the two on the internet, Ian gave Michael a real-audio link to an online CD by Goldie entitled Timeless. Both bought the CD soon after, and this can be considered the beginning of the experimentations that brought about Mad Dog Charm. From late-1998 to the end of 1999, Ian and friend Toby always found cutting edge music that not only inspired, but launched a new understanding and rationalization in the whole creative process. Then on Christmas 1999, Michael got back together with Dax and in March recorded guitar, MIDI guitar, and bass tracks on Dax's demo CD, which was listened to and liked by many celebrated industry giants and artists. A few months following, Dax introduced Michael to Roberto Chalela (vocals and guitars in The Shame?). Now, almost a year since the Wideband project began, Michael currently has 7 new tracks for the next CD tentatively named Adaptive Reality. His take on the new material, "a lot of it is very different from Wideband, and even from itself. I'm not sure if some of it should be saved for future CDs, but we'll see. I'm also aiming to include tracks with vocals by Roberto Chalela of The Shame? and Dax." Apart from original works, Mad Dog Charm puts remixes on Napster and does remixes with other bands (currently working on a remix with The Shame?). So where did the name Mad Dog Charm originate? It's a long story, but briefly: one of my ancestors was a doctor.. he wrote a small pamphlet of cures which I have a copy of. Reading it one day, Dax pointed the name of one cure named Mad Dog Charm. We both thought it sounded cool, so it has stuck. Anyways, pass the express URL on to anyone you know! Write it on paper money! Spread the word! And send feedback! If there is one thing more important than the music itself, it's the fans. Thanks for your support! Keep an ear open for new releases.
