Artist History
Pinned under a 30-car pileup on I-93 with nothing to do but listen to the radio blaring in the car next to him, guitarist Kevin McQuilkin began humming some melodies that would constitute several of the songs on the first Is It Jazz? album SuperClassicInstantAwesome. Not 8 feet away (also rendered immobile) lay singer Mike Atkinson. His futile cries for help blended perfectly with the hummings of Kevin. From above, the percussive tappings made against the crumpled hulls of the cars by Keyboardist/Drum programmer Michael McQuilkin brought the musical banquet to it's inevitable crescendo (and saved the two future bandmates from these makeshift metal tombs). Later, this family born from near tradgedy grew (Drummer Rich Monroe). They have been making beautiful music together ever since. |
