Artist History
Jeff Young is a practicing physician in Virginia who has played jazz professionally since age 16. Now that he is able, he is making his own sound. Jeff Young is a member of Nightbreeze which has had several songs in the top of the MP3 smooth jazz and jazz fusion charts. "Reflections" rose to #20 on the world MP3 jazz charts, #11 on the MP3 smooth jazz charts, and #257 on all of MP3 in March, 2000. "North Point Monday" rose to #5 on the MP3 jazz fusion charts in 1999. He has had as many as three songs in the top 40 on the MP3 jazz fusion charts at the same time. Jeff would like to branch into new and different areas of contemporary jazz. |

Jeff Young is a General Surgeon and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Virginia. He performed in the New York State All-State Jazz Ensemble in 1980, and the McDonalds Tri-State Jazz Ensemble in that same year. He has played saxophone and flute professionally for 23 years but still keeps his day job as a physician. He has a 24 track digital home studio where he composes, plays, and records when his kids give him the time. |
