Artist History
Most of us like to pretend that this is a corner of God's country unspoiled by mankind. Looking past a false front… an early heritage of brutality, exploitation, genocide, and the oft-romanticized Indian nations who once avoided the deep woods which were said to harbor evil spirits… Our story begins in Seattle, sometime in 1993, when Ted Gyles (Hunter) and later Sandy Johnson spawned the dripping thrash-death musings of G.L.S. A brief, chance encounter at the Evergreen State College forever changed the lives of songwriters Mark and Hunter. Loosely formed from the ashes of the infant 7dS in October of 1998, Tumwater Cemetery, named after a haunted cemetery off Little Rock road (one terrifying November night there in particular left a lasting impression on Mark), made its first appearance early in June of 1999. We finally decided, almost an entire year later, playing off a forgotten road outside of Shelton, Washington, to unleash ourselves on an unsuspecting populace. |
