Artist History
One of rock's original fretless bass players, FREEBO has appeared on stage and in the recording studio with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, John Mayall, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Aaron Neville and Ringo Starr. His bass playing, background vocals and occasional tuba parts have adorned over one hundred records, including Maria Muldaur's smash multi-platinum single, " Midnight At The Oasis", all of Raitt's early Gold albums, and tracks for many other notable artists and bands. His television appearances include "Saturday Night Live", "Midnight Special" and "Muppets Tonight".With all this rich and eventful history behind him at an age when most artists have already put out a couple of greatest hits albums, FREEBO is unabashedly unfurling his very first solo CD on his own label, Poppabo Music. "This record did not come to me in an epiphany," he explains, "but rather over a period of time during which I was needing to express myself with more than just my bass playing." Since the mid-80's, FREEBO has been writing songs in a variety of styles with themes of courage, love, peace and hope. Thirteen of them wound up on this CD, which he co-produced with drummer Michael Jochum, including the ballad "How Do I Say Goodbye", featuring his colleague Bonnie Raitt on accompanying vocal. |

Press Reviews
"..what you get from this very complete recording; great instrumentals, great songs, diversity, joy, just a little sadness and wonderful vocals. This is a special album from a confident and highly accomplished musician, and it comes with my strongest recommendation." - Philadephia Daily News |
