Artist description Stylised wackiness in a chilled landscape is the territory of "Trauma Club". Mike Whitfords "Trauma Club" perform an eclectic blend of Soft Trance, Ambient Dub, Chilled Reggae, Horizontal Reels and Calypso Dub. Mike describes his music as a form of personal therapy he chooses to inflict upon the world. The Trauma Club style while falling within the Ambient/Chillout genre is at once unique and unlike any other artists falling within the field. Mike draws on influences from around the world, while rock and dance styles are the foundation of the sound, the Trauma Club style is inclusive of Caribbean influences most particularly Reggae, Indian music and Irish Folk music from Mikes own Irish roots.

Artist History Trauma Club is a homologue of Mike Whitford who in the immortal words of Zaphod Beeblebroxs' analyst "is just zis guy you know..." A Trauma Club is a place to escape to and clear the mind of all detritus, significant and insignificant, that clutters up the mind as a consequence of existing/surviving in this place and time. It is a club because it is a shared form of therapy. Music has served this purpose, in all probability, since people first chanted together to assuage their fears and express their joy. HEADOLOGY is the result of many hours therapy. Mike, originally a drummer, was previously a member of the successful 3 Man Island production team, which later became the Band of Gypsies. Mike is now a multi-instrumentalist with wide musical influences.
