Press Reviews
.....Sonic Boom November 1998, Review of the 'F.O.G'-demo-tape ('F.O.G' = band before 'Discopussy').....The Fog billows in from the dark electronic depths of the European wastelands to join the menacing new wave of corrosive darkwave artists. Having much in common with it's brethren Amgod, :wumpscut:, and Haujobb, The Fog is dragging electronic music kicking and screaming into another realm of vibrantly sculptured sound accretions. The densely manifested aural maze of sound exhibits this positive evolvement by encompassing the audience within a finely woven web that pulsates not with the frequency popular for club play but yet still retaining an aesthetically jarring intensity. This vehement style of music can only be seen as the natural progression of electronic music and will steadfastly supplant and dominate those who refuse to accept innovation as a tool to increase their marketbase. It's small European bands like these that are making the positive musical headway so if your interested in novel new musical progression you'll want to have a listen......KVH, MP3.com Message-Board Alternative Reviews, June 2000, Discopussy's "Ticket To Hell".....time to take another listen to a new song by some old friends/degenerates discopussy. this is a 9inch godsmack piece of electronica. spoken more than sung, over a super-ambitious mixfrom the land of one million synths...somehow these guys manage to make the deck of cards standin a strong wind. great raging guitar to mix things up (at 3 min mark it comes in) this is a fuckinlong song dudes..."opus to hell" would be more like it. great music to go on maniacal shoplifting spree...but where's the melody man...i hear it a bit...but i fearthat if i wrote down the notes or played it on the piano...i'd be dealing with 3, 4 notes tops.....that ain'tthe point of this song though. it's purpose is to get you hyped up like you just downed 4 whole cansof coffee beans....this isn't ambient music to eat dinner too (unless you're a cheetah, lion, shark, etc....) very very cool...dangerous music from...where? i think it's europe somewhere? ..... |
