Artist History
Bat Country was formed in early 1999 by singer Norm Kelsey. One of their first shows was at LA's storied Troubadour for the 2nd annual International Pop Overthrow Festival. Since then, the group has played major venues in Los Angeles (The Roxy, The Gig, Jack's Sugar Shack, The Joint, Dragonfly, The Hard Rock Cafe, Spaceland), Santa Barbara, Sonoma and Orange Counties, along with festivals like Poptopia and Wheat From Chaff. "Can't Endure Any More" was the lead-off single from their debut album, "Entertainment Now." The album is available from Not Lame on Mighty Ohio Records. April 2001, they recorded a new single released on the Not Lame label in July 2001. To coincide with the release, Bat Country performed at the historic El Rey Theater in LA. In November 2001, the Bats re-entered the studio to complete a new set of recordings. This is that rare group that actually has a cadre of fans who dance at the shows to elaborate choreography. Must be seen to be believed! In january of 2003, Bat Country were National Finalists in HBO's ROCK THE STONES Battle of the Bands. |
