Artist History
Formed in 1998 by vocalist/guitarist Nick Glass and drummer Tim Speakman, Vinal has always been destined to turn heads. From those early jam sessions, with water dripping from leaky ceilings, and experience born of hard times, a raw and uncompromising, yet soothing sound was created. When a man is "so happy he could cry," it's only natural that he share it with friends.
During the summer of 2000, acquaintance Travis Mitchell joined the fold on bass guitar. The three-piece practiced like hell for a handful of shows in the summer of 2000, including a prime spot in Headliners Music Hall's Original-Fest. Unfortunately, due to Tim becoming a full-time parent, Vinal was forced into hiatus that fall.
Nearly a year later, Nick felt that the time was right to resurrect Vinal. With Tim now able to spend time with the band, and fresh blood in the group (in the form of guitarist Jeff Lawson and new bassist Jason Jones), Vinal stands poised to bring their form of poetry to anyone who will accept it.
