    Artist History
Since the January 2000 release of Out of the Silence, Daniel Link has more than lived up to the message of his debut EP. With his velvety, rich, slightly seductive voice, coupled with his rhythmic and hypnotic piano techniques Daniel has set the stage for a very bright future in music. As a Contemporary Adult Rock artist, Daniel’s songwriting is eloquent, sometimes mystical, yet always down to Earth. His influences come from 70’s Southern California bands like Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles...but being a Texan there is a touch of country in his work as well. In Austin Daniel appears at premiere music venues for singer/songwriters such as the legendary Saxon Pub, Flipnotics, Waterloo Ice House, and Mozart's. He has opened for artists such as Sarah Hickman, and Barbara K of Timbuk 3 fame. In October of 2000 Daniel’s song Constant Faithfulness, (written for a close friend who was diagnosed with HIV) was selected as the official theme song for AIDS Walk Austin. Daniel joined the impressive entertainment line up which included Lilith Fare’s Ginger MacKenzie, and performed for the 8000 AIDS Walk participants. In July 2000 Outvoice.com released the Top 40 Charts with Out of the Silence debuting at #4 on the Album’s Chart, and the haunting MP3 single Altar Boy debuting at #4 on the Single’s Chart. This ignited interest from radio stations in Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, and The Netherlands. Daniel has come out of the silence to ring as a very promising voice in music.

    Press Reviews
Larry Flcik; BILLBOARD: It’s not easy to be an artist who stands for more than the proverbial sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll. One sharp political word or pointed declaration in a song can (and often will) brand a career, potentially limiting commercial and creative reach—and sometimes with good reason. After all, “message” music can get pretty dry. It’s with that in mind that we marvel at those artists who are brave enough to take a stand in their music and yet manage to be entertaining. Daniel Link is one of those artists. The Austin, Texas, singer/tune-smith is currently promoting his self-made debut, Out of the Silence, a sterling EP that beautifully illuminates the emotional evolution of a gay man coming to terms with his life. Unlike similarly fashioned recordings, this project doesn’t get lost in preachy rhetoric. Rather, it’s a rife with rich slice-of-life interludes that are less about convincing the listener to see the singer’s point of view than they are about merely sharing small kernels of one person’s truth.“That’s the way to reach people,” Link says. “By being human, by being real. If you exist on their level, then they have no choice but to see you in s light similar to the way they see themselves.”Link couches his lyrics in well-crafted, often piano-driven arrangements appear to draw influence from Counting Crows and Rumours-era Fleetwood Mac. It’s a sound that suites his introspective vocal style very well. It also lends a haunting edge to the set’s strongest tune, “Altar Boy,” which touchingly outlines the inner conflict of a young boy coming to terms with his sexuality and religion.Although Out of the Silence may not initially seem to be mass-appeal fodder, largely because of its subject matter, think again. The humanity displayed here is accessible to anyone who’s ever felt left of society’s center. And the music is potent enough to work for those who simply want sweet melodies and memorable hooks.Jon Gilbert LeavittRadio Stonewall, New York, New York: “Links multi-faceted sound attracts the pop, rock and country afficionatos; his vocals are smooth and clean, but still have an edge and this edge is needed on a song like Altar Boy, his most lyrically intense and emotional cut on his Out of the Silence EP. Don't call it a catchy Kyrie or a soulful Salve-but it speaks volumes.” Joe StrouseAustin Songwriter Magazine: “It’s amazing to see how far Daniel has come...in a highly competitive town like Austin, musicians have got to be sharp and on top of their performances...Daniel’s show is fantastic! “ Austin Chronicle:" Here is one of Austin's newest, most promising acts!" Lane GosnayGosnay Entertainment Group:“Texas loves its outlaws, and there all kinds of outlaws. Daniel takes on religion in this hauntingly beautiful song (Altar Boy). He makes a run for the border but leaves behind an idea that can't be dismissed.” JD DoyleKPFT FM Radio/Houston:“(Daniel) reminded me of early Elton John...back when he was good!”
