Artist History
A native Venezuelan, Arnaly is a singer, composer, arranger, percussionist and pianist based in Montreal, where she is active in the music scene. Whether playing with her band, in solo performance, or in partnership with other musicians, Arnaly emphasizes textural variety, energetic yet intelligent improvisation, and a creative sense of rhythm. As a musician, she attributes her multi-cultural approach to the "roots" she had in her Venezuelan community plus the cultural mixture she discovered when she moved to Montreal. She is also influenced by the musical and compositional ideas of Montreal-based Brazilian artist Paulo Ramos . Last year Arnaly participated at the "1999 Festival International Nuits d'Afrique" with her own band. |
