Artist History
"The concept of Ankou Technica occurred to me years ago when I was studying artificial intelligence. It seemed to me that if some day machines do indeed learn to think (which I consider quite likely), then they will ask themselves the same questions as mankind has. "Why am I here?" "What is the meaning of life?" and "Is there life after the scrapyard?". They will ask the same questions, and evolve their own mythology to explain the things that cannot be fully understood. "Ankou" is one of the names of Death, aka the Grim Reaper.. so in this hypothetical mythology I imagined, Ankou Technica is the reaper of the souls of the thinking machines.. He who comes when all work is done and leads the "ghost in the machine" into the underworld. Most of the music I compose under this name is my own idea of what a soundtrack to that underworld would sound like. Enjoy your visit to the scrapyard!" Dan, aka Ankou Technica.. |

Press Reviews
{about "Embrace of the Stars"}'If I were running away from zombies in an open field... this is the track that I would want running through my portable mp3 player. Dark? Oh yeah.... great minimalistic work with creepy, whispered, delayed vocals by Ankou Technica....' ---angelboy09 on Zero_Nine www.mp3.com/stations/zero_nine |
