Artist History
It is rare to find a band whose live performance is as potent and energetic as their recording. Accident Prone is an infectious pop/punk band with an aggressive edge. Consisting of members Steve Fitzpatrick (Vocals/Guitar), Nick James (Guitar), Dave Bobak (Bass), and Chad Salisbury (Drums), who met in high school in 1995 and quickly began to refine their talents. The band hails from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, a suburb of Toronto. Throughout their high school years, Accident Prone spent countless hours perfecting their craft, creating a finely tuned musical powerhouse. With an 'in your face' stage presence, Steve, Nick, Dave, and Chad have continued their relentless pursuit of success with shows filled with energy and intensity.
A.P.'s influences range from a host of musical genres which create a sound that is popular yet unique and fresh. A.P. produces a blend of music that can best be described as the melodic medium between Green Day and Finger Eleven. Listeners will not be disappointed.
The band's near riot live show and independent recording "56 Seconds" has propelled them to the top of the local music scene throughout Southern Ontario. A.P. was added to rotation on CIUT 89.5 FM in Toronto and within one month became one of the top 25 most requested songs on the station.
In their five year existence Accident Prone has played hundreds of shows sharing the stage with Epitaph recording artist The Gadjits and Nettwerk recording artist, GOB. A.P. was also featured in the alternative listening room as one of the top five independent bands of the month on Farmclub.com. A.P. has appeared on The Toronto Sun JAM! Anti-Hit List as one of the "Top 10 Coolest Tunes" of the week.
In April 2001, Accident Prone was chosen as the winner of Eclipse Concerts Bandwarz 2001. The regional competition started out with 52 bands competing over 10 weeks, with only 8 making the final cut. Accident Prone enticed the crowd into a frenzy proving that they were deserving of the top prize.
Accident Prone released their debut independent recording "56 Seconds" February 2, 2001 to a capacity crowd. The sound is a blend of pop/punk and aggressive alternative rock. The first single "Close Enough" is addictive with its irresistible chorus. Tracks such as "Misunderstood" and "Anything's Possible" are laden with melodic vocals that lead to a dynamic and powerful finish driven by heavy pop/punk undertones. "Grandma", although an exaggeration on reality is a constant crowd pleaser that never fails to pump up the most docile of crowds.
With five years of experience and an ever promising future ahead of them Accident Prone is ready to take the music industry by storm. "Put your horns in the air and get ready to jump", because Accident Prone will be commanding the audience on a stage near you.
