Artist description
Powerful and Chaotic. Serene and Emotional.
One could use these words to describe Spicolie's music. Started in 1998 as a punk band, Spicolie has evolved into much more than that. With elements of hardcore, indie, punk and just plain rock, Spicolie endear themselves to listeners wherever they play.
A definite heart-on-the-sleeve attitude is exuded by ex-songwriter Jason Wayman and current songwriters Marc Ertel and Joel Lauver. Along with Andy Combs warm driving bass lines, and Jason Hoskins precise drumming, the sound is nothing I can describe accurately.
With the departure of singer Tim Finneyin late 2001, Marc Ertel began doing vocals for Spicolie. Spicolie then began writing all new material with Marc on vocals (after the departure of Tim) with plans to record a new demo CD. Right before recording was scheduled, Jason Wayman departed from the band and Joel Lauver took over on guitar. The band recorded all this new material as a CD demo which as of now is only available at their shows. |

Artist History
Spicolie formed in 1998. Then, the band consisted of Brad Moore, Marc Ertel, Jason Wayman and Tim Finney. They recorded an album, "Suburban Hero", and signed to a label (Vigilance Records). Then they got a new drummer named Jason Hoskins. Then they did a tour. Next, they recorded an EP, "Demo EP". After that was released they parted ways with Vigilance Records, started shopping for a new label and did a couple of more tours. In December 2001, Tim left the band. Marc took over on vocals and the band began writing all new material, some of which will be on the new record. After writing and playing more shows, Jason departed the band in the summer of 2002 right before the recording sessions of the new record. Spicolie recruited Joel Lauver to play guitar and also engineer the recording......... |

Additional Info
Jason Wayman, (the only original member of Spicolie besides Marc,) is no longer with the band, he had other hobbies that got in the way off the band and often didn't show up to band practices. Jason is in the process of starting a new band with Spicolie's drummer Hosko very soon. As of now, they're called JUNK PARADE. They don't list influences. However, its said they're in the vein of Casket Lottery, Third Eye Blind and Grade. |
