Artist History
The term intelligently heavy serves as a rough
summary of Lomans aural attack. Thriving to
break up the humdrum in the current subdued state
of popular music, their forceful and emotional
soundscape engulfs songs of disdain, malcontent,
and reflective introspection. The band began to
take shape in 96, when David Roble and Kevin
Wright began playing together and decided to take
it to the next level. After some failed ventures,
a singer was found in Josh Brayton, who had been
playing keyboard for a local goth metal band.
In 98, Loman decided to relocate from their home
in Concord, NC to Raleigh in favor of a larger,
more receptive music scene. The move left the
band without a drummer and more than a year was
spent seeking an adept replacement. Utilizing the
downtime to refine their composition skills, the
band continued to mature musically. Early in 2001
Steve Floyd finally completed the lineup as the
new percussionist. Once again building momentum,
Loman now seeks to break out locally and beyond,
carrying a polished, high-energy live performance
and crafted songs in its growing arsenal.
