Artist History
I have been actively playing and recording music since the mid 1970's.Back then, I was a Jazz snob, yet the paying gigs were Disco. When Punk shook up the industry and New Wave appeared, I suddenly was enthralled at the energy, the good times and the pool of talent that emerged. Vancouver was world famous for its music scene in the late '70's and early '80's. I was composing and playing and recording like never before.Always with open ears, in 1986 I soon became interested in more minalmist sounds, then d eciding to leave the band I had created. When my first son was born, I was paying bills with non-musical work, and band practice most evenings occupied my spare time, I needed some time off. This is when I went "solo", often performing in Art Galleries, et c. I did play with a few people, releasing cassettes under several names. But I pretty much remained solo for the next 10 years, even stopping performances completely. Now in the internet age, there are different opportunities to explore musically, and ha ving worked in the Tech Sector for the last 12 years, I feel good about performing, composing and recording again.Select Discography (September 2000)Band:Private SchoolTitle:Lost in ActionYear:1979Band:Private SchoolTitle:Vancouver Complication (compilation of bands)Year:1978Band:Private SchoolTitle:Last CallYear:1979/1994(CD Compilation)Band:WarsawTitle:Talking Volume (Flexi EP)Year:1980Band:warsawTitle:Entering UnobservedYear:1980/1999(CD release of "Live" recordings)Band:PazTitle:PAZYear:1982(Cassette release)Band:PazTitle:Greatist HitsYear:1986/2000(CD release of unissued vinyl)Band:The Grass HutTitle:The Grass HutYear:1987(Cassette release)Band:Jaime ClayTitle:Double HelixYear:1987(Dance Performance Commission)Band:CoalitionTitle:This is a storyYear:1988(Cassette release)Band:Vanishing PointTitle:The General Comes To TownYear:1990(Cassette release)Band:Jaime ClayTitle:Entertaining the FutureYear:1999(CD)Band:Jaime ClayTitle:New Atom AmbientYear:2000(CD)µ |
