Artist History
Eddie Stankewick-vocals, bass, guitar, drums, programming.A former member of the 80's psych combo Melted Americans (Resonance/Semaphore Records), Ed currently plays lead guitar in BabySage (Poe Records) and Electramone. Arthur Schupbach- vocals, lead guitar, lap steel, organ.Formerly of the Brooklyn-based noise combo Grumwald, Schupbach now fronts the Orange Beauties.Schupbach and Stankewick first played together in a New York-based band called Split. After recording only one single--produced by Kevin Salem--the band folded, but the two continued to play and record together. Their first release Worm EP, is the result of sessions recorded at Stankewick's home between July and October 1998. The sessions yielded dozens of songs but due to tight schedules the two were forced to pick just a handful to mix and press. "Schupbach's garage/noise style paired with Stankewick's pop sense is assaultive yet tuneful " |
