Artist description
Two guitars and a bass combine for a sharp, melodic sound with a smooth, pounding rhythm. It’s sincere, without the whining. It’s melodic, without the hard stuff. It exists somewhere in between to appease those fans of a broader scope of music. |

Artist History
It’s a pretty great thing when a talented and ambitious band just emerges from out of nowhere. And in this case, we do mean nowhere. Ultramagg hails from Magnolia, TX, a farm town with a population of under 4,000 people. It happened in 1995. Four guys from various bands got together to play some great pop/rock music. Now, almost 5 years later, they're building a bigger and bigger following as they grow and evolve into one of the best indie-rock bands in the South. Crowds began to line up for Ultramagg with their s/t debut album, which was released on their own label, Less Than Records, in 1998. They followed the release up with three East Coast tours and a spot on the famed “Emo Diaries” series of comps from NY’s Deep Elm Records. Their latest offering is a CDep entitled, “Summer’s Not Over”, on Texas based Remedial Records. The band is constantly active and out touring, so if they haven’t won over the kids in your town yet, it’s only a matter of time. |

"...they craft a unique, propulsive version of rocked out punk. With well written arrangements and crisp production, its these moments that really shine. I'd keep my eyes on these guys, they will do great things someday. Worth a listen." |
