Artist description The FiyaWater Band are a four piece band who play a mixture of acoustic and electric groove with an alternative hint. The members are made up of Matthew Argyle (guitar and vocals), Peter Lancaster (bass and guitar), Tim Lawson (drums) and Kris Butler (keyboards).

Artist History They started as a three piece writing and arranging songs together in early 1998 after the members met through a Steve Jones project called Audio Noir that produces sound tracks for films and shows. Matthew sings and plays the guitar, influenced by jazz guitarists such as Wes Montgomery and Russell Malone and song writers like David Gray and Sarah Mclachlan he forges the lyrics and basic song structures. Having lived all around the UK and in Canada he has been exposed to many different musical styles which help to contribute to FWB's unique sound. He is amply backed up by Peter on bass. Peter plays guitar in his own London based band but lends his talents to FWB. Peter has played guitar for 12 years and has been influenced by Robert Quine, Mark White and Stu Hamm. Tim provides the percussion to complete the sound. His talent belies his age as the youngest member of FWB. Tim developed his unique rhythms playing in many bands such as Blue Strawberries and The Works. His influences include Urubu, Omar Hakim and Satin. Kris Butler started out playing bass then moved on to keyboards six years ago. He has his own studio and creates drums and bass, house and dance tracks. Kris brings that background to FWB which helps create a sound that is difficult to define but impossible to forget.
