Artist History
In October of 1999, Skinny Like Riley developed as a side project from Looking Johnny, a Roodent Rocket Records band, which toured the U.S. and played festivals such as Cornerstone and TOMFest. Unfortunately, Looking Johnny lost members to Chiropractic School and full-time youth ministry, so Skinny Like Riley slowly began to recieve more attention.
This past summer, Skinny Like Riley captured the attention of music fans throughout the West Coast while playing on the Extreme Tour. This tour made stops in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado. The tour was very beneficial for the band to gain experience touring, playing night after night and realizing just how much work being in a band is.
Skinny Like Riley has played with such national acts as PAX 217, Dogwood, and Bean Bag. They have had the chance to play for 1,500 screaming fans, intimate shows of 20 people, and various sizes in between. Each show is unique and has been a wonderful experience for them.
Our philosophy for playing music is an opportunity for us to share what is doing in our lives by playing music, telling stories, and hanging out with people who come to the shows. The combination of upbeat Rock & Roll with lighthearted attitude is a lot of fun. "It's more than music, it's about love and life." Energetic and exciting, Skinny Like Riley inspires and entertains while sharing the love of Jesus through their music and lives. |
