Artist History "RESISTENZA" is a Rome based libertarian musicians collective formed in 1.9.9.2. to plugging away LIBERTARIAN CULTURE all around the world. Musically very influenced by the Ruts and the earliest english ‘77, they make a kind of evolved punk as counter information through punk rock. They just play for benefit, antifascist anti-authoritarian causes. In September 1994 they toured Euskadi, Catalunya, Castilla and the rest of Iberia supporting the international meeting Vs FMI and World Bank in solidarity with iberian unemployeds and CNT. The RESISTENZA released their first single Ep double "A" side “Fine” c/w “Escape” in April '94 on Banda Bonnot Records. The band successfully toured Europe several times: Italy, Euskadi, Iberia, France, Switzerland... They released their "The Stand" CD debut album in April'95 on Banda Bonnot records, featuring on lead violin Mauro Pagani (ex Area/PFM). In June 1996 they toured France supporting the movement Vs the immigration act. In March ‘99 Francesco (ex Tilt), join the band on guitars and backing vocals. The band became a four pieces consisting in: alex (gtrs, vocals, keys), pino (bass, backing vocals), betulla (drums, vocals), francesco (gtrs, vocals). Le prochaine album (called “Absolute”) took more of six month to be finished, with the pretty average of 30 days per song. “Absolute” Cd edition will be released in February 2000 on T.M.V. recordings (Italy) and Deifer records (Chile). In 2001 the single “Public House” is included on the "International Punk Rock Box Set”. History's largest collection of Punk Rock by the canadian Meathead Records. Press Reviews Kicking off with an almost bluesy riff, Leave or Die, is heavily laden with an angst fuelled vocal that drags you, quite unwittingly, into a thrilling chorus. Remake is a darker affair whose inferior production hampers, what sounds like, a potential rabble-rouser of a tune. (DickB)
