Artist History
Raul Rothblatt (cello) writes music for film, dance, musical theater and a wide range of instrumental groups. A product of the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, he came to New York in 1993 for the NYU Musical Theater writing program. Since receiving his MFA, he has written various musical theater pieces including The Little Mushroom and The Adventures of the Monkey King, and various dance pieces, including a collaboration with Ashley Smith which will be performed at the Kitchen on May 30th. He tours nationally with Életfa, the premier Hungarian folk group in North America which is appearing on the Shanachie label later this year. |
