Artist description
Quizzo nurtures the traditional instrument of his homeland, Heliopolis. He has started using electronic sounds with the fingleshell, much to the chagrin of more traditional island musicians. But his tunes really sound wonderful. People are starting to come around these days. |

Musical Influences
Quizzo's music stands out amidst the other musicians of Heliopolis. Most 'islanders' stick to traditional uses of the delicate fingleshell. But not Quizzo--he's a dedicated fella who wants to change the Heliopolitans' views of what music can be. |

Artist History
Quizzo started making music when his grandfather first took him to the fingleshell festival. He was only five. Once a year, the finglefish beach themselves on Judjud Beach. Musicians and collectors gather, as well as plenty of cultured city-dwellers, to search for the delicate shells these fish leave behind after they die. Different shells produce different tones, and virtually all the musicians in Heliopolis use these to make music. Quizzo found this rather boring as he got older, so now he seeks new ways to make gorgeous tunes. |
