Artist description
coming from numerous musical backgrounds four guys tried to generate a kind of no compromising hardcore-vibe which had all the inevitable influences melted into one blend of harsh, shredding, emotional and focused outbursts. the main influence being all kind of leading straight edge-sounds. the old school sounded old to them (and still does), the new school sounded UNBROKEN to them (and not much else matters)and the emo sounded whiny to them...so they just got them all together |

Artist History
with the slow departure of their former band B.T.O., drummer and guitarist for later LEBENSREFORM started a new project that was destined to be a full-on straight edge-assault. they found a fresh kid on bass and tried several voices (including their own) until they accidentally ran into the right vocalist in 1996. LEBENSREFORM shaped and recorded for a demo-tape which right-on became their first 7" "Licht, Luft, Leben" on PER KORO-records (http://www.perkoro.de).their live-period started out well, and a fellow crew from all around their area shaped, and found it's name: "northcore"... with the recording of "retor", their second 7", LEBENSREFORM got in the rooster of bands proud to be recorded by D.Kusche, responsible for highlights as ACME, SYSTRAL or MÖRSER. goin' out of their way, in many ways, LEBENSREFORM turned more and more into [ lei ], and their bassist started to concentrate on his singing career with LINSAY, whose guitarist filled in on LEBENSREFORM-bass once in a while.but only with the addition of then LOXIRAN- and now CHISPA-guitarist Dennis on bass for [ lei ], the band was able to go on two impressive tours with RYE COALITION on one hand and the very impressive CATHARSIS/GEHENNA-package on the better hand.[ lei ]'s performance turned more into self-destroying sets and the two split-releases they did (a 7" with fellow KINDLE, and a 5" with Japanese thrashers SLIGHT SLAPPERS) did not help to shape a brighter future. the end came with a musically interesting twist into the electronica-realms, which didn't help to fill the emotional and idealistic gap in between... |
