Group Members
Since September of 1999, the Drew Martin Band has been hard at work recording his debut CD of all original music, titled "fill in the spaces". Drew's acoustic guitar provides the groundwork for a myriad of layering instruments, including the electric guitar, electric bass, double bass, piano, violins, and light percussion. He mixes his unique musical flavor with influences from contributing band members to create an album peppered with strong, double latte drum-and-bass back beats, topped with a rich blend of espresso guitar hooks, and dark roast lyrics, "Mmmm...Sounds delicious..." |

Press Reviews
"Drew Martin is a romantic. He calls his songs 'Courage, My Love,' 'Lady of Leisure' and 'Piano Etude No. 1.' He has that pensive sensitive look on the several photos on his debut CD (including some artful pics with a scantily clad young lass). Thankfully, Martin cuts the idyllic image short by staying clear of writing wistful music with syrupy lyrics. Instead we get pointed words, sharp jabs of electric guitar and passages of jazz fusion (that carry the unmistakable influence of bassist Seth Horan) covered in a smooth package. He has a talent for spitting out harsh with poise and eloquence... Martin does have a wonderful sense of melody, especially when he's concentrating on acoustic guitar passages such as the fluid work on 'Seven Minute Lull.' The unexpected violin and viola flowing through songs including 'Wreck' are nice, too. Martin's music alone makes this a worthwhile purchase, but chances are you'll enjoy the entire package."- Toni Ruberto of the Gusto Magazine in the Buffalo News |
