DIES IRAE, the metal band of Romania, formed in November 1995 in the formula: Sorin Stoian- guitars, Radu Iordache - vocals, Victor Stoica - drums, Ioachim Stroe - bass/ vocals, Marian Stoenica – guitar (came in 1996). The first official Dies Irae product appeared in March 1997 and it was the split LP with God from Iasi. Dies Irae’s side named “A Perennial Spleen” contained 5 tracks. This was the first ever split LP of doom/death/black metal on the Romanian market.1998 meant a new contract with Bestial Records and a new album, totally Dies Irae: “GARGOYLES” (April 1998). |

Dies Irae promoted the album in Bucharest at the Big Mamou club and around the country in many cities like Deva, Buzau, Turnu Magurele and Iasi.This album had many reactions on the Internet, were Dies Irae made their homepage including audio tracks, photos and other items of interest. There were many fans attracted through this channel of information and there were many European fanzines enthusiastic about the album.Dies Irae puts together by the half of 1999 6 new songs influenced by the new millenium’s electro metal, but keeping a close connection with death and black metal.
