Artist History The Norwegian punk band, Darling Daizy, was established in 1994. Since then, the band has continuously rehearsed and produced songs with a main focus on better and more solid musical expressions. They have, during several years, played concerts around in Norway and done a successful tour to France and Britain during the summer of 2001. This spring, Darling Daizy also will attend the «BYLARM» live-festival in Norway, which is a well known festival scene where new approaching bands get in close touch with potential record companies. Norwegian press and media also cover this event with a great deal of focus. Darling Daizy released their first CD in March 2000. This album, «Passé», contains of 15 songs with different musical variants of punk. The record is so far released in Norway on independent label, and world wide distributed by, The Orchard, on web-shops like Amazon.com and cdnow.com. Musically, the sound of the band could be placed in the more specific «skate-ska-surf» punk category. Still it is through they’re live gigs the energy really comes alive and it is then the young trio really understates the positive live tag, that has been placed on them. Today, the band consists of three male musicians in they’re mid twenties. Erik West plays bass and keeps the main vocal performance in focus. Bjorn Coucheron tumbles his fingers on the guitar and joins Erik vocally on chorus. Bjorn’s younger brother, Kim Burst, is placed on the bottom and keeps the rhythm aspect in place. Other positive events in the history of the band would be the visit to MTV NEWS, were they were presented with a song shown with pictures from the skate series, SK-8, now showing on TNBC in America. RADIO ONE in England has shown positive signals and AMG has a biography of the band on their web site. Paper press and music media in several countries has also given very good credits to the DarlingDaizy punk concept. In other words, DarlingDaizy, can today look back on several years’ with positive evolution and they really look forward to approaching the American live marked. 20©01 DARLING DAIZY
