Artist description
The Biznautics combine intelligent lyrical gymnastics, with a uniquely irresistable musical style. These skateboarders-turned-overachievers consist of 4 emcees (each dedicated to expressing, intelligence, creativity and emotion, and technical perfection), an unfadably sick DJ, and a full band. Their music creates a passionate snapshot of youth culture, generating a very diverse fan-base, much like that of Sublime. Their high-energy preformance and wide fan-appeal make them one of the most exciting bands in the Northwest. |

Artist History
In the first month of 1998, a rag-tag group of musicians, skateboarders, ADHD victims, and spoiled rich kids, assembled in a third-story bedroom studio to begin work on what would soon become the musical embodiment of their youthful souls. The result of the winter ‘98 recording sessions was the Biznautics first album. This self-titled suburban opus was just a shadow of what was to come, but the musically driven foundation of the Biznautics had been set in stone. The Biznautics are definatly a hip-hop band, but their wide variety of influences give them a sound that is quite unique in the contemporary hip-hop scene. Their lyrics are intricate pictures that convey a spectrum of emotion. Their versatile musical backbone allows them to lay down grooves that have the energy of the Beastie Boys, the emotion of Pink Floyd, the soul of Stevie Wonder, and the appeal of Sublime. Other musical influences include, the Roots, Mos Def, Hieroglyphics, Latyrix, the Who, Phish, Weezer, and too many more to be listed. Known for their high-energy live performances, the Biznautics quickly climbed their way to the forefront of Tacoma, WA’s local music scene. Their musical versatility allows them to be booked with almost any type of band, and more often then not, the Bizwill share the bill with non-hip-hop acts. They also are played on Seattle’s alternative radiostation KNDD 107.7 (the END) That is why their fan base is about as varied as their musical influences. Since their first album the Biznautics have become champions of the studio, constantly supplying their fans with new material. In the Winter of 1999 they released their second full-length album entitled “Slaw Wars”, and they just released their third record: “The Sinatra Project”, this January. This 6-track EP is an innovative reflection of the spirit of todays youth, the crowning achievement of the Biz. It has been called both “addictive” and “inspiring”. This album is the launching point for the future of the Biznautics.... |

Press Reviews
"At first glance it could be easy to write off the Biznautics as a bunch of upper middle-class Tacoman kids who are trying to impress high-school girls. But their unique sound, profound intelligence, and sharp lyrical skill, cut through all defenses as soon as the beatdrops" -Darkest Hours -"high-energy hip-hop.. a solid group" -the Rocket |
