    Artist History
From the land of the Georgia Pines comes Tim Brooks and the Alien Sharecroppers--a band that brings to the world a blues-infused flashback of classic rock-and-roll iced with new twists and turns that will help take this idiom to the new millennium. Their performances consist of a diverse collection of original songs with a sprinkling of obscure cover tunes that runs the gamut from hip-shakin' soul to pure guts rock-and-roll, touching on everything in between with their trademark funky style. Tim Brooks is the man behind the scorching axe. Tim creates a plainspoken but cutting edge sound without sacrificing the country-tinged music of his roots. The Sharecroppers may be the "new kids" in town, but they have been around the block--musically speaking. Their musical philosophy through the years has led to them blowing away average, status quo contenders and developing themselves as a low down, funked-out unit that shuns comparisons. Tim Brooks' guitar prowess has earned him the recognition of hopeful young guitarists and seasoned veterans. He received international exposure when he took the grand prize in Guitar Player Magazine's 25th Anniversary Ulimate Guitar Competition for his home studio version of "Made from Scratch", a blazing two plus minutes of other-worldly slide guitar. This honor allowed him to share the stage at the Warfield Theater in 'Frisco with some of the best guitar killers in the music biz today: including Steve Morse, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Ry Cooder, Adrian Belew, John Lee Hooker, Gregg Allman and others. The Alien Sharecroppers have built a wide following across the USA and Europe, with each of them gathering status individually before teaming up with Tim earlier this year. The Sharecroppers are Benny Mobley: harmonica, Kenny Walters: bass and vocals, Jonathan Randall: lead singer and acoustic guitar, Paul Thomas keyboards, and Anthony J. Walker: drums and vocals--all experienced, dynamic musicians in their own right. Tim, who has played with Muddy Waters, Gatemouth Brown, Dickey Betts, Tinsley Ellis, The Dregs, and a host of other name acts, is creating rock-and-roll for the new century--come along for the ride . . .

Guitar Player MagazineDominic Milano Editorial Director:Ovation. Tim Brooks brought the house down at our outrageously cool 25th Anniversary Celebration/Benefit.Roto:Staff WriterThis could be the start of something big.San Francisco ChronicleJoel SelvinEditorial Director:Tim Brooks, an enormous mountian of a man who won a competition amongthe magazine readers to appearat the concert, hails from Macon, GA.,so it probably was only fitting to have him rip into a scorching slideversion of the late Duane Allman'ssignature song,"Statesboro Blues".The Macon TelegraphDan MaleyStaff Critic:Tim Brooks and Company played for four hours and blew everybody awaywith their better-than-faithful renditions of R & B's classic material at the Allman Brother's Farm Convention.Tatto MAGAZINETim Brooks' talent has earned him the recognition of many hopeful youngGeorgian guitarists.WIXV I-95 RADIO Republic Management Willie Perkins:The crowd responded well to both the singles when played live, and whenthe band launched into coverslike "Statesboro Blues", "Down By The River"and "Whipping Post" towards the end of their set, the audience went intosuch a frenzy that they pushed down the barricades and swarmed to the front of the stage. We had seven different bands play for us on River Street over the long St. Patty's weekend, but Tim Brooks And Company's performance was by far the best received.DIRTY LINEN MAGAZINEShawn Ryan:Loves the record, reviewed for City Paper, is trying to fit it into Dirty Linen and trying other freelance outlets.
