Artist description
After their first album "Kurt Cobain" which got excellent reviews (Visions, Soundcheck) Subwave now has recorded their second album named "Reject". The members of the band now have developed their typical own style yet to a higher level. This fresh sound tends to be even more tight and direct, combining those big ear-catching melodies with straight and powerful riffing. This is deep going atmospherical rock with expressive vocals, put into a simple but only more effective formula, that contains all what alternative music still can be. The whole life wrapped into songs so intense, you might want to believe again, that it really could be important. Do you believe?
Then go and get it!!! |

Artist History
Subwave was formed in spring 1996 in the original line-up Sven Kartscher (git/voc), Guido Seibelt (dr/voc) and Felix Schnetzer (bs). Since then the band is regularly performing club-gigs.In 1997 the first demo-tape "320" was released, including five own tracks. Recording and mix by Christian Reinfelder, an old friend of the band, who is also responsible for the live-sound of subwave. The new CD "Kurt Cobain" was produced in April 1999. Like the first production of "320" all ten songs were recorded live on 8-track-recorder. Engineering and mix again by Christian Reinfelder. Digitally mastered by Plastik-Michel.The CD is not a tribute album for Kurt Cobain or Nirvana. Similarities in style are little. The title of the album was made up accidently as the date of the recordings was exactly placed on the 8th and 9th of April, the fifth anniversary of the "murder" of Kurt Cobain. Reason enough for a last farewell to an "icon" of the alternative scene. The sound of subwave is to be placed in between underground and alternative. The ten songs on the album build a bridge from hard and powerful guitar rock to more quiet and melancholic Tracks. Added with intelligent and expressive lyrics, far off meaningless rock stereotypes. |
