Artist History
The band started in '98 when Tyson and I (Derek)were introduced through a mutual friend. We liked the same bands, and shared the same goals musically. One day, Casey Conner came up to me in one of my classes and TOLD me that he was going to be our bassist. I didn't disagree because I have heard him play previous to that. Our first band practice was in a dingy old basement at a friends house, and the band was called "Orphius" named after the Greek God of music. It wasn't long before the cops came to the door complaining of exessive noise. So we moved to Casey's basement because he had more food there anyways. After jamming a few times, we decided that we should try with 2 guitarists to get a more "full" sound. So Casey McCann joined on Rhythm guitar. His musical tastes didn't quite suit the style we were aiming for, so soon after recording our first demo titled "Cow?" Casey was replaced by Sean Toogood. Ironically enough, his style was perfect. We acheived the sound we were looking for. I was on lead vocals, and decided that I only wanted to play lead guitar, so I passed the responsibilities to Tyson, who was replaced on drums by one of Casey's really good friends, Dan Junkins. As the band proceeds to learn individually, and as a group, our style is expanding to great heights. We play a variation of genres. Anywere from punk (My Mom Says I'm Cool) to Power Ballads (Highway, Fair, All That's Real) and to powerful, melodic and up-beat tunes that stick in your head (Walk Away, Fake Friends, Will Always Be). So if you want to hear more of Stillframe, Bookmark this page or E-mail me, and I can answer any questions you may have. Thanks,Derek Wall |
