    Artist History
I have to admit that electronic music has been a sort of an "on again/off again" thing for me. My background is in guitar and bass. It's only been in the last 4 years that I have picked it up again. And really, it wasn't until I heard Autechre and Aphex Twin that things started falling into place. I used to try to play industrial electronic music in the late 80's early 90's but I always thought that my music was too melodic and not hard or funky enough so I never really went anywhere with it. The issue was really that I didn't have enough faith in myself. I slipped back into guitar and played in a couple bands that could never get there crap together. in 95, after becoming completely disgusted with guitar based music, I started listening to more and more electronic stuff. Later I bought a sampler and Cubase. I messed around for a while this and that, but with not much aim or direction. When I heard Autechre, I remembered the stuff that I used to play early on and things just clicked."I've been spending money on musical equipment for at least 10 years only to find that the best things in life really are free. Unfortunately, I didn't find that out in time to save money." If you make music in the one of the many IDM flavors experimental electronic, Come and Join the IDM-Making list at http://www.e-groups.com/group/IDM-Making and talk about making electronic music as it relates to IDM.
