Artist History
We were part of a quartet called "Farabi" which gained some acclaim for their performances of gypsy music from the near and middle east, and left santa barbara and the rest of the band behind for the faster-paced life of sfo. Now, we're the house band at Cafe Istanbul, and can be seen all over the Bay Area with fire-spinners, belly dancers, and abstract artists.ˇ |

Press Reviews
"This duo draws on electronica, as well as on the folk traditions of Greece, Turkey, and Afghanistan, but keeps their instrumentation strictly acoustic. Tobias Roberson's hand percussion rhythms, played on the Mediterranean dumbek, create a Trance-emulating vibe, atop which Eliot Bates deftly improvises pungent melodies on the lute-like oud." -- listen.com |
