Artist History Born from the grunge movement of the early nineties, Dudn’t Matter formed from students of Pittsburg State University in 1993. Ambitions then were mearly to entertain and be entertained. With half its members working in a local indie record store, there was no shortage of music to inspire. With origional members Curtis Pasmore and Clinton Shane scouring the promos and new releases, it was no time before Curtis, Clinton and original members Darrin Chase and Michael Aaron were putting on shows at local bars, frat parties and the occasional after hours party at “the warehouse”. After 2 years of being called “the best cover band around”, the boys drew inspiration from their set list, heavily laced with Tool, AIC, Nirvana and Zombie, and began to write. After a couple of songs it became apparent that things were changing. Between love, lust substance and musical differences, the “line up” reflected these changes. Flip Flopping between original bassist Curtis Pasmore and current bassist John Bennett, guitarist Michael Aaron went off the deep end of heavy. The original philosophy of the band was to stay with the thick power groove and layer that with sweet melody, dynamic and detail. When that path changed, Michael left to form his own band. Enter Jody Baker. A friend of a friend quickly became a friend to all. Jody’s unmistakable talent and production/recording knowledge became a huge asset. Writing immediately resumed and the result is the self-titled album, Dudn’t Matter. Better venues, bigger shows and a concentrated effort by Sound Dynamics and Chase Productions led to a desire to surpass the huge sound of the record on stage. Enter Dave Johnson, veteran guitarist and vocalist of the Kansas City music scene. His addition to the band has improved the sound and theatric of live shows, and, added variety to the jamming process. So, sooner than later, the writing will resume.
