Artist description Dayton, Ohio, artist Chris McCoy defines his band’s music as a hybrid of pop and americana soul. This makes for songs that melodically encompass the entire spectrum of sound and human emotion. “Seeing McCoy on stage, alternately confessional and distant…McCoy’s music is so soulful and heart wrenching…so amazing, so emotional.” -Sara Farr, music writer for the Dayton Daily News He is currently busy recording and producing music for his debut full-length album that is set for release in the late summer of 2001. There are plans for a supporting tour of intimate venues to follow in the Midwest and along the East Coast.Although McCoy has performed most of his life in solo, acoustic fashion, over the last year-and-a-half he has assembled a stellar backing band consisting of some of Dayton’s most talented musicians. Their music has also received regular airplay on many college radio stations, as well as, commercial radio; most notably, WOXY 97X in Cincinnati and WWCD CD101 in Columbus.So, keep your eyes and ears open this summer for the debut LP from Chris McCoy and the tour to follow.
